WORLD FOREX - Dollar Exits Mostly Higher After Surging Vs Yen

The dollar advanced against most currencies Friday, reaching a three-month peak against the stumbling euro and a six-week high against the yen as its recent rally gained momentum. The dollar has risen sharply in December, supported by strong U.S. economic reports that have heightened anticipation of a quicker end to ultra-low interest rates than previously forecast.
The dollar's upward trajectory Friday was bolstered by favorable technical factors after traders pushed the greenback through important levels against the euro and the yen. The dollar also reached its highest level since early September against a basket of six currencies.
